Web Site Redesign, Content Management and Database Development

For Georgia Institute of Technology’s Procurement Division, the Web site is the resource for purchasing, delivering, paying and accounting the goods, services and assets that support Georgia Tech's objectives of innovative research, education excellence, and supportive community service. Like many organizations, a centralized “Webmaster” was responsible for designing and publishing and new business needs were outgrowing the site’s architecture, and the Webmaster.

Starting with a graphical redesign and more streamlined navigation scheme, Kellen Interactive drastically improved usability. The use of creative graphics, “pull down” menus and content “placeholders” added consolidation opportunities and consistency. For Content Management, Kellen Interactive recommended Macromedia’s Contribute application, based on GIT’s specific needs. This enabled GIT to take advantage of Contribute’s special offering for the education sector, as well as ensure GIT would have access to contemporary Content Management tools that were supported by the Internet Community.

Kellen also developed specific applications that work in conjunction with the new Web site, including a scrolling “news ticker” and a database of GIT’s vendor profiles.
